We've been on both ends of the hiring process, from reviewing hundreds of résumés to applying for jobs ourselves. It's a disaster, it's broken and there's too much time wasted on both sides. So we decided to build Clarify to make it easy for growth-minded professionals to manage their achievements, take them anywhere they go (You worked hard, you should be able to showcase it.) all while providing the tools and resources necessary to make better decisions in the workplace, make otherwise difficult career conversations easy, and make it easy to organize and showcase their best work.
The easiest way to get started is to leverage any existing OKRs, KPIs or 1:1s you are already responsible for. For the most part your organization or team have goals they've set, one may be to 'Increase revenue by $200k' or 'Increase conversion rates by 10%'. Over time you've probably completed dozens of these, but do you remember what they were? did you leverage them to improve your job search odds? or to have discussions around your career by demonstrating the value you've generated and can generate?
With Clarify it's easy to use your OKRs, Goals, and any KPIs to track and showcase your best work. We should probably mention that we hate résumés – you probably do too, we don't blame you – they're not entirely the most helpful in their present day format, they've never really evolved with the way we work today, and for some odd reason you'll find all sorts of hiring technology layered on top of this one piece paper that's supposed to get you a phone call and ultimately a job. However, for now, we'll have to make do with it and as such we've focused on what matters most: results.
For example, let's say you're in sales, sure you could say you're responsible for account management, responsible for new business development, and responsible for planning; but unfortunately that's not impactful and it provides little context on how big those accounts were, how much new business you brought on board, and what volume were you responsible for planning.
We've tracked hundreds of resume builders and apps, for the most part they're useless. They're templates, they promise to deliver results, but let's be honest they're just trying to sell as many one-time resumes as possible, who cares whether you land the job or not? They collected their $5 or $99. They're however not addressing the real problem, but instead just flooding the job search and hiring process.
